Michael Penna was born in Valenciennes to a French mother and a Venetian father. He began working with glass at a very young age at fifteen, immediately demonstrating great skills and talent: from a journeyman, he became an assembler of chandeliers, a servant, a servant and finally a master at the age of twenty-one.
In a short time he refined his artistic technique both in working with submerged colors to create art objects and in the development of important lighting projects. Thus began a journey of work which in 2016 led him to open his own furnace in Murano, where he blends the alchemy of tradition, identity and passion in glass processing, in the constant search for the essence of beauty, through artisan knowledge in which manual skill, research, design and experimentation come together.
